A VISIT FROM A PHARMACIST FROM NETHERLAND TO APOTEK K-24 GEJAYAN

On August 8, 2017, Apotek K-24 got a visit from the Director of SPITS Alkmaar BV , Chris Sindhunata and his family. The visit on that morning was directly accepted by the Director of PT. K-24 Indonesia. dr. Gideon Hartono, and his wife, drg. Inge Santoso.

In the middle of vacation with his family, Chris Sindhunata took the time to visit Apotek K-24 Gejayan to share his experience in business, SPITS Alkmaar BV, which he founded in 2002. SPITS is a company that focuses on pharmaceutical industry located in Alkmaar, Netherlands. This company provides service to package medicines for pharmacies, so that the pharmacies in Holland can provide the best service for their patients. Chris was also accompanied by his wife, Clara, his first son, Ivan who is also pharmacist, and his wife, Eline, and the his other children, Kai and Mikki.

Clean and Neat Outlets

That morning, the visit was started with a short tour at Apotek K-24 Gejayan. dr. Gideon invited Chris and his family to see the process of dispensing medicine which was practiced by the responsible pharmacist of Apotek K-24 Gejayan, Emy Anggraeni, S. Farm., Apt. Chris and Ivan looked very enthusiast and apreaciated it, as well as Clara, Eline, Kai, and Mikki. They were very interested  with every corner of Apotek K-24 and took a photo there.

“I was really surprised, actually, when I walked in first to the Apotek K-24 because I didn’t expect it to be so clean and neat. It looks really professional, it has great OTC department, and I really like the appearance of the store.” said Ivan.

After a short tour at Apotek K-24 Gejayan, the tour group went to the seminar room of Ergia Klinik which is located on the fourth floor. In the seminar room, the CEO of online pharmacy K24Klik.com , Bagas Ananta, gave a short presentation about Apotek K-24 and online pharmacy K24Klik. Again, the guests from Holland looked very enthusiast and listened to the material explained by Bagas. They also ask questions about the delivery system of K24Klik. A pharmacy that opens for 24 hours is still a rare thing in Holland. That is why the system owned by Apotek K-24 becomes something new and interesting for them.

The Only Difference is the System

It does not stop there, Chris and Ivan also shared their experience as a pharmacist in the Land of Windmills. According to Chris, health service in Holland is included as one of the bests in the world. Even so, the Holland citizens should pay a quite high amount of insurance, which is about €100, or around Rp. 1.500.000,- per person every month. With that amount of money, they will get great health access, such as nurse visit. The system of health service there is very developed in the term of technology. It is proven by the way to write the medicine prescription which is all computerized. The pharmacists just need to input the code or name of the medicine prescribed, then there will be machine that sorts and packs those medicine. Therefore, the patients just need to open the medicine pack whenever they need to consume it.

“The pharmacy outlets in Indonesia and Belanda are similar, they are both clean and neat. The difference is only the way to prepare the medicine. In Holland, all of the prescriptions are already input in the database, but here is still manual. Even so, the pharmacy in Indonesia is very developed and I’m very impressed with Apotek K-24.” said Chris.

Besides, the interesting part is, according to Chris, for every medicine consultation with pharmacists in Holland, the patient should pay the consultation fee for €12 or about Rp. 180.000,-. The fee will be a lot higher during holiday or night which is 5 times higher than the normal price. It is very different from Apotek K-24 that provides free medicine consultation with the pharmacists, it does not matter during the day, night, or holiday. The patients do not need to pay at all.

Tracing the Memory

Besides visiting Apotek K-24, Chris and his family also planned to visit other tourism destinations in Indonesia. Before visiting Yogyakarta, they had spent several days in Jakarta and Bandung. Then, they will visit Solo, Malang, and lastly they will visit Land of God, Bali. For The Sindhunatas, this visit to Indonesia is counted to be a ‘homecoming’ trip. It is because Chris was born at Surabaya, Indonesia, and later moved to Holland when he was 10. Meanwhile, his wife, Clara, was born at Semarang and later moved as well to Holland. That is why they want to maximize the time to visit Indonesia to trace back their memories when living in Indonesia.

The visit on that day was ended with the handover of souvenir from dr. Gideon for Chris and his family, which is a photograph of Indonesia, a work of dr. Gideon’s son. Chris also gave a souvenir for dr. Gideon’s family, which is Holland cheese. With this visit, it is expected from both Apotek K-24 and SPITS to tie a good relation and keep supporting each other in the future.
