ODIXA PHARMA LABORATORY STARTS GROUNDBREAKING FOR HERBAL MEDICINE FACTORY IN SENTOLO, KULON PROGO, DIY
PT. Odixa Pharma Laboratory would start the construction of herbal medicine factory in Yogyakarta. The groundbreaking was done by the regent of Kulon Progo dr. H. Hasto Wardoyo, Sp.OG along with the director of PT. Odixa Pharma Laboratories dr. Gideon Hartono in the industry area of alan Yogyakarta –Wates KM 20, Desa Sukoreno, Kecamatan Sentolo, Kabupaten Kulon Progo Yogyakarta, on Tuesday, 23 August 2016. During that event, there would be symbolic ground breaking by using heavy tools and tree planting. There was also delivery of food supplies for the local residents.
On the 6 hectares land, there would be construction for several medicine factories gradually. The beginning stage was herbal medicine factory that would be continued with ethical medicine factory (prescribed by doctors), OTC medicine factory (unprescribed), and also cosmetics factory.
According to the plan, Odixa Pharma Laboratories would be divided to several production facilities that consist of office building, production and technic building, clinic and sub clinic laboratory, storage, and other supporting facilities such as waste processing facility, parking area, staff community, canteen, and many more.
Odixa Pharma in producing drugs and cosmetics would be cooperating with various business partners such as Beacons Pharmaceuticals Pte Ltd Singappore to produce generic drugs, with a famous bodybuilder Ade Rai to produce food supplement to support body health, and also with Dr. dr. Reza Yuridian Purwoko, SpKK, an expert researcher of Biomedic and stem cell to produce cosmetics.
dr. Gideon Hartono's intention to build PT. Odixa Pharma Laboratories was started by his concern over several things, which are:
1. The less appreciated research result conducted by Indonesian students in their own country
2. Indonesia is a great source for herbal medicine but it needs to be researched scientifically
3. The high price of medicine for Indonesian people
4. The countless cosmetics that contain dangerous ingredients to skin
5. The distribution of herbal medicine which contains chemicals that will show dangerous effects if it is consumed continuously.
Odixa Pharma Laboratories is encouraged to produce health products which are needed by local residents or abroad. This laboratory is also expected to participate in national development, mainly on the trial to improve public health by providing certified, safe, and affordable medicine, also to provide more jobs for local residents so it can help to improve people's living standard.
