How can I customize keyboard shortcuts with a graphical interface and dynamic menus?
I am looking for a way to change keyboard shortcuts for different applications and system functions using a graphical interface that allows me to drag and drop keys and modifiers. I also want the system to show me the available shortcuts as I press a modifier key, and to update the menus of the applications with the new shortcuts. For example, if I change the shortcut for saving a file from Ctrl + S to Alt + S, I want the menu of Notepad to show Alt + S next to the Save option.
I have not found any operating system that has this feature built-in. I know there are some hardware and software solutions like QMK/VIA that let me remap keys at a low level, but they do not reflect the changes in the system or the applications. Is there any operating system or software that can do what I want? If not, why is it so difficult or impossible to implement? Is there any alternative solution that can achieve a similar result, such as a keyboard with a digital display that can change the symbols of the keys depending on the modifiers?
